Summary

When I first opened FigJam, I found the interface quite intuitive. It was easy to drag shapes, add sticky notes, and label items quickly. The accessibility was excellent because I could use it directly in my browser without downloading any software. There was a slight learning curve when working with layers and aligning the frog icons on the lily pad rows, but overall, the process was smooth and enjoyable.

One challenge I faced was figuring out how to highlight the table borders. I wanted to make each section clearly defined so students could work within their assigned spaces more easily, but I couldn't find a way to do this. It would have helped if FigJam allowed easier customization of table outlines or borders. I also noticed that while it was easy to embed a YouTube video, resizing or enlarging it within the board was difficult. This made it a bit harder to make the video more visible for viewing. Despite that, I appreciated how FigJam lets teachers add a timer and background music, which helps create a calm and focused atmosphere for students. I also love that I could add my own recorded voice to explain directions. This feature would greatly benefit students who struggle with reading, helping them understand the task instructions more clearly.

As someone who genuinely enjoys teaching mathematics, I value giving students plenty of space to think, experiment, and work out problems. FigJam's limitless workspace is perfect for this subject because it allows students the freedom to show their reasoning without feeling confined by space. It encourages exploration, creativity, and collaborative problem-solving, all key elements for effective learning in math.

FigJam helped me visually represent my "Jumping Frogs" LCM activity in a fun, interactive way. It supported engagement through visuals, audio, and interactivity, even without animation. I can definitely see myself using FigJam often in my future classroom, especially for lessons that involve visual problem-solving and teamwork. Overall, FigJam is an excellent tool for interactive teaching, accessibility, and inclusive classroom projects. It fosters creativity, participation, and a deeper understanding by enabling all students to engage and explore ideas.
